Vintage with Love Furniture Fest: Restored Design Finds

Vintage with Love Furniture Fest Restored Design Finds African Luxury

Pre-loved. Restored. Reimagined. Re-loved.

Vintage with Love brings its first dedicated furniture-only event to Design Quarter, Johannesburg, from 15–18 October 2026, combining beautiful interiors with support for literacy and education.

A beautiful piece of furniture can tell a story—and help write a brighter future. This October, Vintage with Love invites Johannesburg shoppers to discover Furniture Fest, a four-day celebration of quality pre-loved furniture, thoughtful restoration and shopping with purpose.

Taking place at Design Quarter from 15–18 October 2026, the non-profit organisation’s first furniture-only event embraces the theme

“Where Home Meets Heart.”

Visitors can browse a curated collection of pieces that have been restored, reimagined and beautifully finished, ready to be loved again in a new home.

From the wardrobe to the home

For more than a decade, Vintage with Love has transformed donated and pre-loved clothing into funding for literacy and education initiatives across South Africa.

In 2023, that philosophy expanded beyond the wardrobe with the launch of Décor for a Difference at the Johannesburg Big Sale. Furniture Fest marks the next chapter, bringing furniture, craftsmanship and meaningful impact together in a dedicated event.

“This is not a traditional second-hand furniture sale,” explains Tracey Butler, Managing Director of Vintage with Love. “Furniture Fest is about seeing the potential in quality pieces and transforming them into beautiful, contemporary furniture for today’s homes. Each piece has been carefully selected for its potential, then restored, reimagined and given a new lease on life.”

Restored craftsmanship, fresh character

The collection celebrates the character and craftsmanship of existing furniture while introducing a fresh, contemporary feel.

Many pieces have been expertly reupholstered in statement fabrics generously donated by Ardmore and other well-known fabric houses. The result is a collection that invites shoppers to look again at what pre-loved furniture can become.

“In a world of fast consumption and throwaway culture, Furniture Fest challenges the idea that new is always better,” says Butler. “It’s about rethinking the value of what we already have. A quality piece of furniture can be restored, reimagined and re-loved rather than discarded, and in doing so, it can create an impact far beyond the home it eventually lives in.”

Beautiful furniture with a meaningful purpose

As with every Vintage with Love initiative, profits support a network of literacy and education-focused charities across South Africa.

Every purchase therefore carries a purpose beyond the home: helping fund educational opportunities while giving existing furniture a second life.

Furniture Fest brings together design, sustainability and philanthropy through considered choices and beautifully renewed pieces. It is an invitation to furnish a home with character, appreciate the value of craftsmanship and support a cause that reaches beyond interiors.
