The 9 August 1956 is a historic date when over 20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings of South Africa to protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women. In tribute to this day, we are celebrating with our own historic wine.
Once the flourishing centre of the spice trade, today Stone Town is Zanzibar’s main attraction, welcoming visitors through narrow alleyways filled with dusty shops scented with cloves and ladies preparing intricate henna designs on the hands of passersby.
In honour of Women’s Month, we’re pulling out all the stops (or corks?) and saying cheers to all the amazing women in our lives with our Stone Town Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot red blend.
This very special Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is grown in the misty, rolling hills outside Darling, on the Cape West coast. While the Merlot enjoys the crisp Atlantic breeze just a few kilometers from the coast, the Cabernet Sauvignon thrives along the lush mountainous slopes. The result is a wine that pairs beautifully with colder winter evenings and hearty dishes.
