Lexus has revealed its latest uber-luxurious offering, but this one doesn’t ride on four wheels and rather is meant to cruise across open waters. Meet the Lexus LY 650 yacht, the marque’s first luxury vessel that offers the recognizable “L-finesse design” of Lexus and the typical high build quality we have come to expect from the automaker’s flagship products. The 65-foot luxury boat is based on the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept that was first seen in 2017.
Lexus says the yacht has “exquisite” attention to detail and promises to offer “superb cruising performance.” The unique design of the LY 650 yacht was created in collaboration with an Italian yacht design studio called Nuvolari Lenard and two-and-a-half years of development work has gone into it. The LY 650 is currently being built in partnership with specialist boat maker Marquis Yachts in Wisconsin, US.
The Lexus yacht has a coupe-like design and Lexus showcased a two-tone finish on the yachts premiere which is available as an optional extra. The LY 650 has a luxury salon and three berths with more than two meters of headroom and en-suite facilities. It is big enough to accommodate up to 15 people and sleep six.
The interior is packed with top-shelf features, including Mark Levinson surround-sound audio systems, air conditioning, bespoke furnishings, real wood trim, and a fully-equipped aft galley. The brand has managed to make the vessel as light as possible for high-performance with the extensive use of carbon fiber composite materials in the construction. The yacht is fitted with an LY-Link system that offers advanced connectivity for boating and shares timely information and provides control of various yacht functions. It is powered by a pair of Volvo Penta IPS engines producing up to 1350 horsepower each.
The Lexus LY 650 has a starting price of around $3.7m
