Strauss & Co, South Africa’s leading Fine Art Auction House, founded on prodigious expertise, has become synonymous with top quality art, decorative arts and jewellery. The latest addition to its portfolio, fine wine, is the result of a successful collaboration between Wine Cellar fine wine merchants and expert sommelier Higgo Jacobs. The Strauss & Co April Virtual Live Auction takes place from 11-13 April, with fine wines, in session 1, under the live & virtual hammer on Sunday 11 April at 11am.
Bidding on the 11 April Strauss & Co fine wine auction:
1.) Register to bid:
Register for the auction by clicking on the REGISTER TO BID link on our website and complete the short online form. An email and SMS will be sent to you confirming your registration and paddle number for the auction.
2.) Submit your bid:
The auction is now open and you can place your bid – allowing you to get in on the action before the Live Auction starts on 11 April This can be done on the website by clicking SUBMIT YOUR BID on the lot that you are interested in.
3.) Absentee & Telephone bids:
If you would like to place a maximum bid that our auctioneer will execute on your behalf, you can click on the relevant link and complete the form. If you would prefer to bid by phone, we will call you from the saleroom and bid with you on the phone. For telephone bids, complete the relevant form and email it to bids@straussart.co.za. An SMS will be sent to you to confirm your bids.
4.) Live Virtual bids:
Once the live auction begins on 11 April at 11am, you will gain access to an exclusive virtual bidding console that simulates all aspects of being at the auction house in a live sale. This will take place on the Strauss & Co website. Virtual live bidding is user-friendly, safe and secure.
