Gåte plays with the senses with stunningly creative plating that enhances the mouth-watering allure. It’s top level dining where each dish is a knockout showpiece, paired with 10 estate wines, including two bubbles. Winemaker Jacques Maree explains: “Our wine pairs fantastically with any food. We’ve got grapes from Elim and Stellenbosch which gives two fruit profiles. We’re combining grape aspects with cellar techniques like fermentation vessels, concrete eggs, barrel sizes and cooperages and different fermentation dynamics.”

Big and bold, Quoin Rock has already scooped a Top 12 Shiraz Challenge (2019) win for their 2015 Shiraz. “The Simonsberg is your classical Bordeaux area, so the result is more new world, bigger structures and fruit forward.”

Next level opulence at Quoin Rock
Manor House

Recently refurbished by the Gaiduk family, Quoin Rock is the latest top end wedding venue that delivers on magnificent views, top class cuisine and a one-of-a-kind setting at a Manor House, that at 400m above sea level, is thought to be the highest residential property in the Western Cape.

The estate’s newly-built function venue and Manor House provide the perfect setting for a romantic Cape countryside wedding and honeymoon.

Situated in the Knorhoek Valley, this luxurious farm is nestled amongst rows of vineyards sketched against the Simonsberg. Weddings and special events are well-catered for in a function hall accommodating parties of 150 to 200 people, with three catering options.
